Coverking Silverguard Car Covers
Silverguard Car Cover Suited for Sunny Climates An excellent choice for sunny climates. The silver reflective layer reflects sunlight and U.V. rays, yet is very water resistant. Made from strong Polyester yarn, with an added silver reflective and water resistant layer
Silverguard car covers are breathable, although not as breathable as Mosom or Stormproof. If your vehicle is exposed to rain for long durations, Mosom or Stormproof are better car cover options. If protection from light nicks, scratches and light hail is required, Coverbond is the best choice. Silverguard is soft to the touch and won't scratch a vehicle finish (assuming the vehicle is clean when the cover is applied). Silverguard is available in silver color, or with a soft white fleece inner lining the Silverguard Plus. Beware of materials which claim to be similar, but are only half the weight - 150 denier material is not suitable for car cover use. Coverking tests all it's materials, including Silverguard, to be compatible with automotive paints and clear coats. Because Coverking is TS16949 and QS-9000 certified, all materials used for Custom Car Covers are tested and OEM approved. Silverguard Custom Car Covers are available only with Coverking's famous Custom Fit and the unique pattern designs which result in the fewest seams possible - Compare the images on the left. Coverking uses the fewest seams to produce a perfect, custom fit without the "patchwork" look created by sewing small pieces together. Although it costs more, Coverking's designs result in superior fit, looks, and less chance of seams failing or leaking. Silverguard is a great all-weather fabric used by Coverking for our custom car covers. Silverguard is a special woven polyester fabric made with 300 denier yarn (twice as thick as similar fabrics) with a thick, silver reflective urethane coating on the outside. The polyester material is non-scratch and the urethane outer coating should withstand extreme sun for years.
Coverking developed Silverguard to address the middle-market with special consideration for sunny climates. Silverguard is also fairly compact and water resistant, so it is a great all-round cover.
Coverking uses wax coated thread in overlapped, double stitched seams. The wax coating expands in the pierced hole created during the stitching process, to help cover the hole. Once again, some competitors take the cheaper route by using an ultra-sonic welding of the material instead of sewing. This process is far cheaper, because it melts the fabric layers together. It also doesn't use any thread. Unfortunately, the area melted together becomes very hard and examples of scratching the vehicle surface are not uncommon.
Coverking offers a 1 year repair or replace warranty on custom Silverguard covers.
CARE and CLEANING
Silverguard can be easily cleaned by washing while on a vehicle. Use common carwash detergent, and air dry.
